Saya dan tiga orang teman lain, Adam Wijaya Medantara, Hendry Septiawan, dan Muhammad mendarat di I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport Denpasar dari Adi Sutjipto International Airport di Yogyakarta, kami langsung menuju Pelabuhan Padang Bai dengan biaya Rp sekali jalan menggunakan sebuah mobil membeli tiket kapal seharga Rp ribu/orang, kami langsung naik ke dalam kapal yang ternyata akan segera meninggalkan pelabuhan. Pelan-pelan, kapal yang kami tumpangi menjauh dari Pulau Bali, membawa kami ke tengah lautan yang semakin Pulau Bali masih sempat kami nikmati ketika kapal itu semakin menjauh. Gunung Agung yang menjulang tinggi sekali pun tertutup awan, serta Nusa Penida yang menghijau dari pemandangan yang terlihat adalah birunya lautan Selat Lombok yang pasti sangat dalam. Adam, salah seorang teman saya bercerita, saat dia berada di depan bagian kapal, dia sempat melihat kerumunan lumpa-lumba yang melompat menghirup udara. Sungguh beruntung teman saya yang baru kali pertama naik kapal menyeberangi lautan jam kemudian, daratan yang semula samar-samar terlihat dari kejauhan, pelan-pelan menampakkan wujudnya yang sesungguhnya. Itulah Pulau Lombok, pulau idaman saya yang kelak akan kami jelajahi. Salah satunya adalah Gili Nanggu, salah satu gili terkenal akan potensi wisatanya di Pulau dekat Pelabuhan Lombok, pemandangan bertambah dengan masyarakat yang memancing di perairan dangkal tak jauh dari dermaga pelabuhan. Di bagian depan kapal yang dengan leluasa kita bisa menikmati pemandangan yang terhampar di hadapan leluasa pula kita bisa menyaksikan pemandangan yang semakin beragam itu. Selain pemandangan bahari berupa air laut yang membiru dan pulau-pulau kecil, masyarakat yang berjejer rapi memancing tak jauh dari itu kita juga bisa meyaksikan senja yang mulai menghilang berganti petang.
